We choose preferably for routes, that allows you to take your time where there is much to enjoy, and also the time to enjoy yourself and the excellent accommodations we use. Therefor the mileage will be kept as short as possible. We work preferably with owner managed small-scale accommodations, with a good location, where hospitality still means something. Most of these locations and owners we know personally. We are not using other tour operators, but always directly. As a result, we have direct influence on the route, price and quality, in particular, we will be able to plan and be flexible with independent advice.
We prefer, when camping in Botswana you use roof tents or Bushcampers, but no tents on the ground! Hiking in the wild, safety first.
Always respect wildlife, no matter where you are, and no feeding of wild animals!!
Mountain biking can be arranged according to your experience in Southern Africa.
We arrange for you scuba or snorkelling in Mozambique or South-Africa.
Safaris can be arrange on your budget from National Parks to Private Game Reserves.
Bungee jumping to Big swings in South-Africa and Zimbabwe.
Amazing support for all.
We as a small tour operator in South-Africa, we support a few fair trades in travelling, schools, rehabilitation centers and protection of animals against poachers in Southern Africa.
“Let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.”
Founded more than 11 years ago, we have travelled through Southern Africa, Mozambique and my friend Margreet van Belle (owner at Afrikaya Leisure Travel) asked me what the name Kaya means? So, I told her and that was decided on the name Afrikaya (Home in Africa)
Our values goes far beyond travelling and adventure. It's about people, nature and the animals we encounter each day and what does it means for our future and how can sustain this beauty.
We always try our best to give to the adventurours the best quality for their money, the best accommodation, guides, vehicles, culture experiences and adventure, nature that they have paid for.
We always remember and listen to our travellers when it comes to new ideas, routes, conditions and what they would love to do on their next trip to Africa! Afrikaya Leisure Travel has the ibility to change to the needs of the traveller when needed.
The three pillars of sustainable tourism are employing environmentally friendly practices (reduce, reuse, recycle); protecting cultural and natural heritage (restoring historic buildings or saving endangered species); and providing tangible social and economic benefits for local communities (ranging from upholding the rights of indigenous peoples to supporting fair wages for employees).
We as tour operator in Southern Africa, we give and support locals with schools rebuilding, innovative ideas and support from international companies who supply as with various products.
Most of us in the world would love to go green, it is possible and we do initiate green products, but for us, we start using natural products and get people involved.
As tour operator this is one of the most difficult things, keep your people happy and let them enjoy life!
