Temperatures vary widely from one geographical zone to another, and frequently within zones, depending on the altitude. In the lowlands, temperatures reach 32C° (90°F) or more in the summer and rarely fall below -6.6°C (20°F) in the winter. The range in the highlands is greater; temperatures can fall below -18°C (0°F) and frost and hail are frequent hazards. Rainfall is mostly concentrated in the months from October to April and the hottest months are January and February. Snows occurs in the highlands between May and September. Lesotho experiences a great deal of sunshine.

Day 1-2 Vaal Marina (Vaal River)
Based on the vaal river one of South-Africa's biggest rivers and most spectecular. Lots of excursions and so much fun in the river.
Day 3-4 Drakensberg Mountains
Then we will drive to the Drakensberg (270 km), where we are in the
magnificent Cathedral Peak. In this window, you can spend your days free with (mainly) walking, enjoy the prospects and wild Elk Antelope (inter alia), the rock art centre, and much more.

Day 5-6 Golden Gate
Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Maluti Mountains of the north eastern Free State lies the Golden Gate Highlands National Park
.The park derives its name from the brilliant shades of gold cast by the sun on the park's sandstone cliffs, especially the imposing Brandwag rock, keeping vigil over the main rest camp.This 11 600 hectares of unique environment is true highland habitat, providing home to a variety of mammals – black wildebeest, eland, blesbok, oribi, springbok and Burchell's zebra - and birds, including the rare bearded vulture (lammergeier) and the equally rare bald ibis, which breed on the ledges in the sandstone cliffs. Ribbokkop, the highest point in the park, reveals a breathtaking tapestry of red, yellow and purple hues as its warm shades merge with the cool mountain shadows towards evening.

Day 7-8 Lesotho
Lesotho, the "roof of Africa", is a mountain Kingdom as an enclave in South Africa. Since 1966, it is independent from Great Britain. After disagreements between the two largest political parties (at the end of the 1990s) is the stability now stabilized. It is still not very touristic.
Lesotho is known for its beautiful nature, fascinating Landscapes (as the only country in the world is not covered by the 1,000 m), spectacular, and the traditional way of life of the population. Lesotho is popular with mountaineers and hikers.
Day 9 Bloemfontein
The city of Roses, and the capital of the Free State Province. Enjoy warm hospitality, friendly but diverse peoples, many attractions and cultural sites, an unique Orchid House with various rare Orchids, and much more.
The "City of Roses", as it had become known locally, is placed with more pivotal importance than any other city in the country. It is the Judicial Capital, the sixth largest city in South Africa and lies on the main road, rail and air links between north and south, east and west.
