South Africa -25 days garden route

This tour is composed to give Tourists a relaxing and a experience of how the flower power in South-Africa grows. Flower and plant lovers, this trip will blow your mind away. Min. Persons on this journey is 8 people and Max. 12 People. Stay in comfortable, small-scale 4 * accommodations, beautiful places are the key, make this trip very intermittently. By the small group, the average travel speed gives a lot of free time, we do not need to travel each day from early morning till late. And yet we try to be early in the afternoon at our accommodation, so that we could be all equipped for the following day. We are staying at least 2 days everywhere.

Day 1: Flight

Depart from International Airport (regional flight connections, flight upgrades and overnight accommodation before or after the tour available on request  on our scheduled overnight flight to Johannesburg.


Day 2: Pretoria

On arrival in Johannesburg you will be met by a guide and stay over in Pretoria (Tswane) also known as the Jacaranda city with it’s beautiful Jacaranda trees. in a 3* Guest house

 

Day 3 : Drakensberg

After breakfast we will commence our journey to the Southern Drakensberg, where our accommodation has been organized for the next three nights at the 3* The Nest , set on a scenic 860-acre estate near Underberg, with breathtaking views.  Dinner is included each night.


Day 4: Drakensberg

Following breakfast we will have a leisurely botanical walk within the immediate vicinity of the hotel giving an introduction to the native flora.  The dramatic terrain of the Drakensberg range has made it one of South Africa’s prime mountaineering areas, however, you do not need to be a seasoned climber to get the best out of the area.


Day 5: Drakensberg

Today there will be further and more detailed botanical walks along the many trails that crisscross this scenic area. Dinner will be served once again at the hotel in the evening.

 

Day 6: St-Lucia

In the morning we drive to the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. A very special slice of Africa, the Wetland Park stretches along the Zululand coast from Mapelane in the south to Sodwana in the north and offers a diverse range of wildlife. In the evening you do a night drive to Cape Vidal Game Reserve.


Day 7: St-Lucia

We rise early this morning (the best time to see wild animals) and visit the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve, an open view safari vehicles will pick you up from the lodge. This is one of the largest game reserves in South Africa, covering an estimated 96 000 hectares, and encompasses three reserves: Hluhluwe, Umfolozi - two of Africa's oldest game reserves, both founded in 1895


Day 8: Lucia

The Hippo & Croc cruises leave daily and the duration of the tour is 2 hrs , this is an absolute must do when visiting the area. While we can never guarantee that wild animals will co-operate by coming into view when we want them to, we hope to see some of the following species: Nile crocodile and hippo, as well as rhino (both black and white), elephant, buffalo, giraffe, waterbuck, kudu, nyala, impala, duiker and reedbucks, amongst others.

 

Day 9: Amanzimtoti

Today the journey continues to the beautiful and tranquil Natal National Botanical Garden at Pietermaritzburg, which specializes in the conservation of plants from the eastern region of South Africa and of rare and endangered species from elsewhere. Established in 1874, the Garden's Victorian past is evident in its magnificent specimens of northern hemisphere plants, such as the swamp cypress, tulip trees, camphor trees, plane trees, giant figs and magnolias.
We then travel on to Durban, on the shores of the Indian Ocean, and the Guest house 4*, situated in Amanzimtoti. All rooms have air-conditioning and full private facilities. Beautiful view over the ocean from the terrace.


Day 10: Amanzimtoti

After breakfast we have organized a guided tour of Durban’s splendid Botanical Gardens. Laid out on slopes, high enough to catch cool breezes, it’s beautiful collection of palms, trees, orchids and water lilies are superbly displayed. The gardens are world famous for the original specimens of Encephalartos wood ii, a cycad that is still acknowledged as probably the rarest plant in the world, as well as for its comprehensive collection of other Southern African cycad species.


Day 11: P.E.

We drive to Durban Airport for our flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival  you will be transferred to your accommodation for the next 2 nights at the 3* Lodge.


Day 12: P.E.

Today you visit the Addo Elephant park. (excursion package). Deep within the shadows of the dense valley bushveld of the Sundays River region of the Eastern Cape lies the Addo Elephant National Park. Here, the evenings are punctuated by the strident howl of the black-backed jackal, and the francolin's call heralds each new dawn. Safe from relentless persecution in the past, the grey leviathans of the bush now roam in peace.


Day 13: Mosselbay

Today we travel to in the Mossel Bay, Western Cape (300 km), to the famous garden route. Visit us on the Tsitsikamma National Park National Park (excursion package). We live in a beautiful **** hotel by the sea.


Day 14: Mosselbay

Oudtshoorn is situated in the Klein Karoo 55 kilometers from the large coastal town of George. Enjoy the relaxed, friendly, hospitable atmosphere offered in town or or at the various surrounding farms. Experience the joy of life in the country! The Cango Caves: One of the worlds great natural wonders, sculptured by nature through the ages. It is situated close to the Klein Karoo Town of Oudtshoorn.


Day 15: Cape Town

This morning, following breakfast, we will explore the many trails on top of Table Mountain (don’t worry - we will get to the top by the five minute cable car!). The indigenous flora of the mountain encompasses some 1470 species, including many different species of Erica and Iris. South Africa’s national flower, the Protea is also abundant on the slopes.

Day 16-17-18 Cape Town

Today, we will drive via the fishing village of Hout Bay and the Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where we enjoy a full day tour.  Once again indigenous fauna and flora are conserved in this priceless wilderness area, and at this time of year the wild flowers that carpet the landscape should be looking at their best.

 

Day 19: Namaqualand (Wild Flower Tour)

Namaqualand in the north-west of South Africa is a sun burnt and barren semi-desert. But that changes dramatically in spring, when after a short rainy season the countless wildflowers spread over the wide plains like a colorful carpet. Most of the flowers belong to the different species of daisies. Evening at leisure.

Day 20: Namaqualand (Wild Flower Tour)
The spectacular wealth of blossoms can be best admired in the period from August to October. Then the visitors can phone the regional and national "Flower Hotlines" to enquire about quality, size and position of the most beautiful flower regions.

Day 21: Namaqualand (Wild Flower Tour)

The Namaqualand spring flowers are justifiably world famous. In a good year this botanical masterpiece puts on a show that is unrivaled anywhere on Earth. If you experience this natural wonder you will remember it for the rest of your life.

 

Day 22: Namaqualand (Wild Flower Tour)
Namaqualand stretches from the small town of Garies in the south to the Orange River to the north, its western border is the wild Atlantic coast, the remote town of Pofadder marks the eastern border. Today we visit wine estates in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.


Day 23: (Cape Town)

Driving back to Cape Town we visit some wine estates

 

Day 24: Airport

Transfer to Cape Town Airport

 

Day 25: Home

This morning we arrive back into your country where the group will disperse.
